How to Treat Back Acne

  2. How to Treat Back Acne

A large group of society is struggling with the problem of acne, both teenagers and adults. It is estimated that every fourth adult and every third teenager suffers from this. It mostly appears on the skin of the face but sometimes also on the back. The causes of acne are different – hormonal changes, improper care (e.g. poorly selected cosmetics or neglecting the back area in daily body care), allergies, infections and inflammations, skin injuries, wearing air-tight clothing or excessive sports activities. Also malfunctioning sebaceous glands or extreme keratinization of the epidermis can cause acne on the back.

Often these are painful inflammations that are difficult to care for and treat – on a daily basis, we do not pay much attention to this part of the body. That is why it is worth entrusting this matter to an experienced specialist.

What treatments do we recommend to remove acne on the back?

At HealthyBeauty, removing acne on the back can be done with several different types of procedure. Before we advise the client on any of them, our specialist conducts a thorough interview, based on that selecting the treatment method appropriate for the client. Back acne removal can be performed with the following treatments:

Treatments for removing acne from the back using acids (chemical peels)

We recommend removing acne on your back with acids. Why the acids? First of all, they are natural substances obtained from high-quality natural ingredients. They show a multilevel effect, thanks to which a specialist preparing the treatment plan has the opportunity to prepare a substance that will be optimally adapted to the type of skin and the severity of acne. More about our chemical peels.

The chemical ingredient (acids) works bypassing the mechanical stimulus so as not to fester existing inflammation and not cause unnecessary pain and discomfort to the patient. The amazing advantage of acids is their antibacterial activity. About 70% of acne cases on the back skin are loaded with bacteria, difficult to remove using retinoids and other traditional methods. Thanks to acids that act on the skin but also on the bacterial flora, we get excellent results even when a person has already used oral medications. If the effect is not satisfactory – it is likely to be bacterial acne, which will exfoliate with acids.

What acids do we use to remove acne on the back? These include:

Pyruvic acid – used in common acne and associated inflammation, seborrheic dermatitis. It works exfoliating & brightening, it has sebostatic and antibacterial properties.

Lactobionic acid – a mild, safe acid that can also be used during periods of strong sunlight (e.g. in summer). It supports the healing of inflammation in the course of rosacea and common acne. It helps in the treatment of psoriatic skin changes, heals skin irritations.

Mandelic acid – safe to use also in summer. Shows a wide spectrum of activity: it’s excellent in the treatment of acne vulgaris, inflammation of the skin, blackheads, and rosacea. It can be used on vascular skin, with hyperpigmentation and scars.

Salicylic acid – a really special one among acids. You can safely use it in the treatment of acne in the active phase – it eliminates, among others p.acnes bacteria, which are responsible for aggravating acne. Anti-inflammatory, fungicidal, keratolytic, anti-seborrheic. Its use requires the use of sunscreen.

Diamond microdermabrasion

A mechanical alternative to acid treatments, effective when acne is not in an acute inflammatory phase. It consists of abrasion of the epidermis with a device equipped with a diamond tip. The cosmetologist decides about the depth and intensity of skin abrasion based on information collected from the client. The treatment is not unpleasant, delicate scratching is felt during it – which also has its special function. Slight skin irritation (scratching) causes natural regeneration and reconstruction processes.

Microdermabrasion is not used in active inflammation phase and when the skin is thin, weak and there is a risk of damage. On the other hand, it is fantastic for people with excessive amounts of sebum. More on microdermabrasion.

Skin care after treatments

In addition to treatments, we focus on educating our clients about how to care for acne skin on their backs. This is very important especially for sensitive, susceptible and weak skin. Remember that there are more sweat and sebaceous glands on the back, so daily acne care must be particularly thorough.

How to care for your back with acne?

Use natural cosmetics whenever possible, without SLS, dyes and preservatives – the best are professional products that can be purchased in the beauty salon.

If you have sensitive skin, use cosmetics suitable for it. You can get good quality cosmetics in our store at the reception desk.

If you do sports actively, take care of hygiene immediately after training. Use clothes made of fabrics that ensure free air access.

Do not squeeze or scratch pimples appearing on the back. Do not use alcohol on the places irritated because it will dry it up.

Make an appointment for a cosmetologist consultation. The specialist will tell you what cosmetics to use, what treatments are for you and how to care for your skin on a daily basis.
